Frightened Ghost video
Ghost hunters Sarah and Steve of Ultimate Paranormal Experience were trying to contact a ghost through various methods on one of their investigations. In this clip, we see a member of the team trying to get a response from the spirit by talking to it while holding dowsing rods. At approximately the 00:37 mark, an unexpected figure moves across the bottom of the screen.To get a better view of the mysterious figure, I have also added a slow-motion version of the event and a brightened version of the slow-motion.
Sarah tells us this about the video:
"We went to the Station Hotel, Dudley in Birmingham, England on a ghost hunt. There was myself (Sarah), my husband Steve, and a gentleman that came on the ghost tour with the company. As we are experienced in ghost hunting, the company let us go down in the cellar to do this vigil.
"There was a murder that took place here, I think around the 1800s, and a gentleman who haunts this place murdered a young lady who happened to be a maid in the hotel. She was carrying his child, but this was a love child and she threatened to tell his wife, who also worked at the hotel. The story goes that this gentleman murdered the young lady while she was still pregnant, hid her in a barrel, and buried her somewhere near the hotel. Nobody knows yet where she is buried, but the murder took place in the cellar we were investigating.
"On that night, nobody else was in that cellar. At the time the footage was caught, my husband was sitting down on a chair filming and I stood to the left. The guy holding the dowsing rods in front of my husband asked the rods to show him where the girl was. At this point, my husband zoomed in to the gent for a better and closer look at the rods moving. That's when you see the figure come up from underneath the camera."
To my eye, this looks like a person -- probably a member of the team -- moving in front of the camera. It seems that this person is trying to duck under the camera to try to keep out of the shot. Just before the event, the camera pans slightly to the right, as if the camera person is trying to get out of the way of the person crossing.
There seems to be a reflective spot on the crossing person that suggests that he or she is wearing glasses. Note: I originally thought the woman on the left was wearing glasses, but upon reviewing the video again I can see that she is NOT wearing glasses (as Sarah states above), but that the reflection is eye shine caused by the camcorder's infrared.
Of course, I wasn't there, so I cannot say who might have been moving where. This is just my conjecture.
