My story takes place some time ago. I'm almost 21 now and I was around 12 at the time, so I'd have to say the year was 2001-2002. I was living in Macon, Georgia at the time and was in my house. The area I lived at was an old plantation that was turned into a lake.

There are family stories of the master of the plantation hiding his gold in the slave graveyard during Sherman's March. Also, there are stories of Civil War battles being fought in the area.

My brother was in his room playing games and my dad was out for the night. The hour was late, past midnight. I was in the living room watching TV. Now, I feel it is important to tell you how our house was set up. From the living room, you can look into the kitchen. The laundry room was separated from the kitchen by a door that was set behind an island that held the sink.

I was lying on the couch watching TV and got this itching feeling. I looked into the kitchen and saw a shape move through it into the laundry room. It was large, easily 12 feet high, but hunched over. It walked with a loping gait and disappeared into the laundry room.

I never saw any detail to it, thank God, but I know it was there because I saw the black shape move through the just-dim kitchen. The figure was almost an absence of light in that area. Now, I know for a fact there are ghosts there. And not many of them are friendly, if any. But I don't believe it was a ghost. I believe that the spirits there were so miserable that they attracted a demon. Misery does love company. Some tell me I just imagined it. Some call me a liar. But two things are for certain: 1, That was not the first paranomal experience we've had there; and 2, I will never forget it.
