The following happened on a windy night in a small town in the Imperial Valley. Nothing exciting ever happens here and things go pretty slowly throughout the day.
My girlfriend, her cousin, and I decided to buy some tarot cards and ask them some questions just for fun. We got the cards out and started this weird ritual with candles and invocations. We called for the gods of the watchtowers to help us on our journey with the occult and put out a bowl of water, a candle, a bell, and a jar with dirt around the deck of cards.
We read in the book that it was supposed to make a circle of light that was going to help us contact spirits. After that, we started asking questions and pulled out cards. We asked many things and no matter how many times we asked the same question, we would always get the exact same card. We were pretty freaked out but found it very interesting at the same time.
Weeks after, we started hearing things in the house, like whispers and started seeing what we called "black orbs" around the house, especially outside the house. Our cats wouldn't get near us and we always felt like we were being watched.
The scariest thing happened one night. It was really windy outside and I decided to go to sleep early for some reason. I remember putting the deck of cards under my pillow just like the instructions said. Then I fell asleep. I woke up several times and went back to sleep without thinking much about it.
The last time I woke up, I noticed something was wrong with the radio. I started listening to it and noticed that a strange voice was talking and there was static in the background. It said: "It won't work. I'm here." It kept repeating the same sentence over and over in a monotone voice.
I stood up and went to check my brother's room. He had the radio on and had the same station as I did, but the station was working and songs were playing. I went to wake up my mom and she went into my room to listen to the radio but it was working perfectly again.
We burned the cards and the book after that. We were so terrified about what would happen next. Even though we gotten rid of the cards, we still had strange occurences like noises in the house and missing things. To this day we believe that whatever we channeled into this world is still here with us.
