This experience happened to my friend George in August of 2008 in the town of Lemoore, California. On most of his days off, George likes to go hunting out in the foothills for rabbits, snakes and whatever. He knows a lot about firearms, ammo and has a big collection of guns and rifles.
One Friday on his way home from work he stopped by the sporting goods store in town to buy some ammo. He was planning a big weekend with his family and relatives to go camping, barbecuing and do some shooting. He said when he walked into the store the owner, who is a good friend of his, was on the phone and motioned he'd be with him in a couple of minutes. So George started looking at some pistols in the display case when he noticed a box of bullets on the counter that was opened and knocked over with the contents scattered on the counter top.
He told me what kind of caliber the bullets were, but I can't remember. As he was looking at them, to his amazement the bullets had names engraved on the casings. People's first and last names! He couldn't believe it! When the owner got off the phone, George asked him if this was some kind of a gag. The owner didn't know what George was talking about.
George showed him one of the bullets, but the name was gone. He looked back at the rest of the rounds on the counter top, but the names he had seen weren't there anymore! Now George is the type of guy who's down to earth; he doesn't believe in ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, strange happenings, etc. To him all of that is pure nonsense.
Yet he knows what he saw; he couldn't have imagined it. His friend didn't know what to say to George. There have never been any bullets acquired or sold in his store that had names engraved on them. Nobody sells that kind of ammo! For a moment he thought George was joking with him, but he could see George was a little upset. So they then carefully examined all the bullets in the box, but there were no names on any of them. George couldn't understand it, what was going on.
It's not like him to imagine things or have delusions. The store owner asked George if he could remember some of the names. George named off a couple: Shelly M_______, Hector V_______. Those were the only one's he could recall. To this day, George still firmly believes in what he saw. He has no explanation but came away with a different point of view on the existence of another world -- the world of the paranormal.
