Gnomes of Golden West Park

I'm a 21-year-old female and reside in Long Beach, California. And I'm still in shock to know that gnomes exist!

My older brother has told me stories of a park that was built over a haunted Indian burial place called Golden West Park in Huntington Beach, California. He's gone on many occasions with friends and saw people crawling behind trees, glowing eyes in bushes, Indian shadows over trees, and gnomes!

I told some co-workers about it and had planned to go in a big group and walk around this park in hopes that we see something paranormal. It was a summer night of August, 2010 around 2 something in the morning that a group of 10 of us planned to met up at Golden West Park. This park is huge, made up of maze-like trails that split up into different paths that all eventually end up at the same finishing point.

Forty-five minutes of walking in circles and no sightings. We stopped to decide whether it was worth it to keep going or turn around because people were starting to get aggravated. As my friends and coworkers were arguing, I was trying check out the trail ahead of us, just in case we decided to keep going.

I thought I saw shadows moving at a distance. I locked into what I thought were moving shadows and confirmed that these black shadows really were moving across the little hill and down the side of it. I looked over at my girlfriend and told her, "I think I see something moving over there." And when I turned around to point it out, I noticed they moved down closer to a light post near us. I noticed three little shadows walking around each other.

I told my girlfriend, "Look, there are three of them. They look like people that are standing far away... or like little kids."

"Do you think they're gnomes?" my girlfriend asked.

I calmly assured her, "No, they're just some little kids playing."

"What would little kids be doing out in the park at 3 o'clock in the morning?" she replied.

That's when it clicked! Oh my god! We found some gnomes! I turned to the group and said, "Oh my god, guys! I see some gnomes! They're over there!" Everyone pointed their flashlights in the gnomes' direction. I was so afraid that they would turn around and see us and react, but they didn't even notice. They were just walking a little.

Two of the gnomes seemed like they were talking to one another, for they were facing each other and pacing back and forth together. When they stood directly under the light, we could tell they were wearing brown pants, boots, a white long sleeve shirt, and a small, pointy, but slightly curved blue hat. They were about 2½ feet tall from the bottom of the floor to the tip of their hats and standing about 3 yards away from us! Their limbs were of human like proportion to its body, kind of like a toddler, and its facial features where hidden by the shadows.

Two of them began to walk in a row very nonchalantly towards a tall bush while the other made sure the two walked in front of him. And just like that, they were gone. I, along with four other people, saw them. We were so creeped out that we had to turn around and practically run back to our cars.

It makes me feel weird to have had that experience. It makes me wonder what else exists out there that we have no idea about.
