Last year's contest winner

~ Elija Jones
HAVE YOU SEEN a paranormal photo that is just too good to be true? Well, maybe it’s not true. In this day of digital photo manipulation, it’s easy to create phony paranormal pix. And here’s your chance to create one and win a prize. Last year's contest was quite a success, so I thought we’d try it again this year.

You are invited to create a fake paranormal photograph of any kind. (See last year’s for some samples.) The photos could be of:

  • monsters (Bigfoot, sea serpents, Mothman, etc.)
  • ghosts
  • poltergeist activity
  • fairies, little people
  • UFOs
  • ...anything else you can dream up

Send the photos (you can submit as many as you like) via e-mail to me at: paranormal@about.com. The winner will be what I judge to be the best, most convincing or most interesting photo. These must be original photos that you create, not photos you find on the Internet or elsewhere.

The winner will receive a copy of the book Monsters: An Investigator's Guide to Magical Beings by John Michael Greer (Llewellyn Publications).

By submitting photos, contestants are agreeing to the terms and conditions of About.com*.

I will be the final judge of the contest. The contest will end on Saturday, April 30, 2005 and the winner announced shortly thereafter. I will also create a slideshow of many of the entries so you can see others' work.

So get to it. Get creative and create your own paranormal hoax... just for fun.

(* Terms and conditions you agree to by submitting your photos: I certify that I am the creator or sole owner of the material I am submitting to About, INC.
