Headlamp Creature

I was driving through a state park, trying to spot my favorite camping area. It was a very foggy, wet day. I looked to the side of the road for only a moment to read a park sign. There was a huge thump on my front bumper. I thought I had hit a small deer or a large bird. I quickly stopped and got out of the car and took this photo. I rummaged through the trunk to get a box to put the carcass in, but when I went back to collect it, it was gone. I guess it wasn't dead after all. Unfortunately, the rain washed away any other traces of it.
