It was a day, just like any other day. I woke up and saw that it was a beautiful, bright sunny day, all the more dreading the thought of going to work as part of the "king's (as he liked to refer to himself) court". I felt a cold shiver go down my spine. I summed up the courage once more and went into work on this ominous day. I was told that "the boss" wanted to see me in his office. I walked down the hall thinking, "What's he going to blame me for this time? Or what has he made up in his head to rant about now? Or perhaps it was to proclaim once again that he is the 'King' and we are not to forget it." As I walked down this endless hallway, the door to his office seemed to get smaller and smaller, shrinking into the floor. As I grew closer, the sky became dark and overcast, adding the the thick atmosphere of anxiety. I could hear distant cries of anguish and fleeting footsteps down the hall in front of me, followed by hideously gleeful laughter. As I rounded the corner, I took a deep breath and finally stepped through the door. I swear this is what I saw! I no longer work there... but neither does he! Something to think about on your next trip to work and who or what might be waiting for you down that endless hallway to Hell!
