While my sisters and I were cleaning out my mother's home, who passed on 11/13/2001, a strange thing happened. She had an old grandfather clock that was her grandfather's, we think, that had never in all our 30+ years worked. My sister who was taking it had placed it next to my mom's bed where she died. While she and I were in the living room, our other sister came in and asked if it that clock had ever worked to our knowledge. We both said no and she then told us, "Well it's back there just ticking away and the pendulum is swinging." We all watched in amazement with our mouths hanging open as that 100+ year-old clock ticked away, pendulum swinging like it was brand new. I remembered I had my camera with me so I grabbed it and took pictures. After I took the first one, one of my sisters jokingly said, "Hi mom, we love you!" And before I snapped the third one (the one shown here) I said, "Mom, I'm taking pictures if you want to say hi." When I got the pictures developed, I about passed out! On the third picture appeared this white vortex-like streak of light across it. I asked the photo lab to re-print to make sure it wasn't something wrong with their machine and to make sure it was on the negative. The re-prints came back all the same and they confirmed it was on the negative and could not have been caused by them. No other picture on this roll came out like this. Was my mom trying to tell us hi and that she was still with us? You be the judge. I know what my heart tells me.
