My house is very strange. I wouldn't go as far to say that it was haunted because I never seem to feel a presence, but I often see things I cannot explain and hear footsteps on a regular basis when nobody is home.
A friend offered that it could be a residual haunting, which seems to make a lot of sense. My family is the first and only owners of my home, but I could be experiencing footsteps and other noises made by us many years ago.
My life wasn't an easy one growing up, and I've experienced some abuse at the hands of my father. For the majority of my teen years, I found myself crying myself to sleep every night. The severity of these incidents might have triggered something in the folds of time and disrupted magnetic waves that perhaps criss-cross through the house. (I'm no scientist by any means; that's just a theory.)
Anyway, I'd like to share two incidents that happened last week that are by far the most activity I've ever witnessed in the house.
One night I was lying on the couch downstairs, watching late night TV when something small and black clearly moved at the edge of my vision. I turned to look and caught what to me looked like a small black trailing orb that was hovering in mid-air about two feet off the floor. Then it vanished.
I would compare it to maybe a six inch caterpillar in which its "head" moved forward slightly before disappearing. I couldn't believe it! I wished earnestly that it would reappear so that I could confirm that it really was something there, but it never came back.
That was okay, though, because what I saw the next day, definitely topped all my experiences put together:
I came home from class to an empty house. I decided to get something to eat, so as I entered the kitchen and flicked on the light, a little girl was standing directly in the doorway that leads into the dining room! I gasped at the same time she vanished.
I had just enough time to see what she was wearing: she was perhaps 4 feet tall and was wearing an all yellow dress with a very elaborate flowery bonnet or hat on her head. She had blonde curly hair, but she vanished before I could take note of her facial features.
I was in shock! I have no sisters and there are no children within miles of our house. I don't see how this could've been residual as I've never worn such an outfit and my mother certainly never has. And that entire day it was icy cold in the house, even though the thermostat said it was 76 degrees. I have no idea why she would appear to me. Why on earth was she in my house? We've never had any deaths here aside from the occasional carnival goldfish. I honestly don't wish to see her again, but I do want to know why she was here. Maybe I should try to contact her?
