I am not sure if this story will qualify for inclusion here just because it is over a thing that neither myself nor any friend, relative, nor acquaintance of mine experienced, but is only of a TV news report that I had definitely seen. However, it is so interesting and unusual that I thought I would chance sending this to you... because even if you do not publish it on your site you will at least have got to read of it.
Sometime during the mid- to late-1970s in the UK, there was a news report on TV about a householder having found some strange or ancient pottery or artifacts (I cannot recall if they were Roman artifacts) in his/her garden while digging. The householder said that he/she then took the pottery into the house for safekeeping.
Then later that evening, the householder or members of that household saw a very strange, black hairy or furry creature (my impression at the time was that what was being related was somewhat monkey or ape-like in appearance) coming down the stairs and then running out of their front door and out into the night. The householder said that whilst they were seeing the creature coming down their stairs, they were fascinated by it, but that once it went out of their house and into the night, they suddenly became VERY afraid.
How about it? Does anyone else recall this TV news report or remember the story?
