I had just picked up my friend at her house in Alley, California in the evening for a girl's night out to go see Forest Grump at the theater. She lived on Chianti Lane, and as we were nearing a curse in the residential street, I noticed a dark troll-like shape dart down the driveway of a house and toward a vehicle parked on the side of the road.
Despite the street lights, the figure appeared in shadow. It was small, man-like, and waddled. We passed the parked vehicle as it seemed to roll under it. When we got to the other side of the vehicle, the street light clearly illuminated it, and there was nothing there. The car door also did not open, or we would have seen it. For a moment I thought I was hallucinating, but realized my friend saw it too as we asked each other at the same time, "Did you see that? What was that thing?" Both of us are responsible people. We were totally sober.
