A few years ago, in the 2006 era during winter, I lived out in the country in Ontario, Canada. I stayed up late, watching TV. I became convinced I should either sleep, or stay awake and hope I don't see "It" again. Like most days, I was up for hours on my computer; from where the computer is, I could easily see the front door. Though I was tired, I remember seeing from the corner of my eye something large, round and red in my front-door window. It looked, from what I remember, scaly of sorts. I immediately jumped and backed up, but the second I stood, it vanished.
Our house being surrounded by trees, it wasn't odd to see a bear during those seasons, but this wasn't a bear - far from it. Feeling curious, I ran to the window, trying to see, and about 30 feet ahead of me, in the pitch dark, I saw a billowing, white, tall thing run by, its "arms" (I guessed they were arms) flailing above its head. I was scared, and I knew what I was seeing was real.
As quickly as I could, I woke my mom and told her what I saw. She was also tired, not believing it, and told me to go back to sleep. That wasn't good enough. I ran into the second-floor bathroom, the one that allowed me to see the tree line, and searched for anything. Every so often the beam of the flashlight would fall upon an area and something would dash out of sight. I knew for sure it was a human figure, the way it stood and its anatomy, but it literally vanished from the cone of light and reappeared somewhere else. Eventually I got tired and lost sight of it.
The following morning, I decided to look to see if I could spot any evidence. I didn't see anything, but I did hear something. When I stood in the entrance to the forest, I could hear galloping, and the further in I walked, the galloping got louder. It wasn't like a horse, and it occurred in short but rapid bursts. Whatever it was ran fast, and I mean immensely fast, like a hardcore drum-roll. And whatever the "thing" may have been, my dogs would shy away from the forest when sniffing around and exploring the wooded area was their favorite thing.
Whatever the "thing" was, it sure was a foreign entity I've never seen or heard of before, and that alone scared me. I still don't have an explanation, but living five hours away from there now, I can't search for it, which I suppose is a good thing. Now I'm not paranoid "it" will find me.
