What on earth -- or below the earth, rather -- are these things? A "snakecam" was sent down into the sewer system of a North Carolina town and videotaped these weird lifeforms that have yet to be identified. They look like something out of a science fiction movie. Yikes! Seriously, though, it's hard to tell from the video how big these things are because we don't know the diameter of that pipe the camera is snaking through. They could be small and someone has suggested that they might be masses of tubifex worms. Any other ideas? (I hope it's harmless -- my daughter and grandsons live in that town!)
