This event took place in summer of 1992. I do not want to go into great detail on the location as relatives of the patient may still be alive. I was not sure what category to put this in... where do you post the impossible?

Here is the story: I had just started a job as the night nurse in a nursing home. The staff told me about this woman patient that had been a resident there for several years who would a few times a year would crawl over the bed rails, come walking down the hall, all the while talking to someone. The someone was her brother, who had been dead for many years. Then she would answer herself in the voice of the dead brother.

I could accept that, dementia perhaps. But here's the impossible part. She had been totally paralyzed for years. Her joints were in an advanced state of contracture, absolutely welded together. I had seen her X-rays; there's no way would this woman could crawl over the bed rails, let alone come walking down the hall.

I simply did not believe any of this story until about a year later. I heard someone talking in the hallway about 2 a.m. Looking down from the nurse's desk, I saw this woman walking down the hall toward me, talking and answering in the dead brother's voice. It sent chills down my spine. She sat down in a chair by me and was still talking and answering as though she was two different people. She remained at this for about and hour until she finally put herself back to bed.

Was it a case of possession? I saw it, but I still don't believe it! It was absolutely impossible.
