Seeing through the skin
Feeling blue? According to Prof. Leonid Yaroslavsky from Tel Aviv University, the saying may be more than just a metaphor. Prof. Yaroslavsky believes that humans may have an ability to "see" colors and shapes with their skin. His optic-less imaging model is presented in a chapter of a new book, Advances in Information Optics and Photonics, and could lead to a new form of optical imaging technology that beats the limitations of today's lens-based imaging devices...

Martin Luther King's attorney confirms psychic investigators' 'Judas' finding
A startling new piece of history revealed by a close associate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. eerily echoes the earlier findings of psychic detectives whose investigation of King's assassination is featured in an award-winning book...

X-Files riddle in Churchtown as blazing object is seen falling from the sky
Did aliens land in Churchtown’s very own Area 51 on Sunday night? Residents flooded the emergency services with reports of a bright object falling out of the sky, but, in true cover-up style, search and rescue teams failed to find a thing. A police helicopter search over the Wyke Cop area of the Moss at around 9.20pm also proved fruitless as did a daylight search on Monday...

Gainsborough Old Hall has a history of mysterious images
A mysterious ghostly face has appeared at a 550-year-old manor house where King Richard III and Henry VIII were once entertained, it is claimed. The latest spooky visitor at Gainsborough Old Hall was spotted in a picture by Paul Spence (44), of Pietermaritz Street, Lincoln...

You’ve actually seen Bigfoot?
Laura Crozier: Boy, have I got some interviewing to do! Last week, in response to a recent Len Robbins’ column about the purported discovery of Bigfoot by some north Georgia men, I concocted an online poll about the subject. I asked our web readers to tell me what their beliefs are about the giant, hairy creature. The results are displayed here in this column for your reading pleasure. Two people actually said they’ve seen Bigfoot for themselves! Two people who read the Charlton County Herald - at least online - are either certain they’ve seen Bigfoot or having a little fun with me...

Poltergeist dude, or bad Pringles?
Jason Ashley Wright: OK, the other night, I was at a friend's house. I looked to my right and saw this guy sitting on the floor, reading a book. It was rather dark, but there he was, smack dab on the carpet — an opaque male form. And he shouldn't have been there. "Obviously," I remember thinking, "I'm nuts." I looked to my left, then back to my right, and the guy hadn't budged. By now, I was a smidgen on the freaked-out side, so I hollered at my friend, who turned on the light and, quicker than you can say General Electric, the guy was gone...

Archdiocese reiterates that Emmitsburg visions 'not supernatural'
Responding to an apocalyptic posting to a Web site by Gianna Talone-Sullivan claiming that the Blessed Virgin Mary told her of an impending worldwide disaster, the Archdiocese of Baltimore has reaffirmed its position that Talone-Sullivan's alleged visions "are not supernatural in origin." Talone-Sullivan, a pharmacologist, claimed to have received messages from Mary during Thursday evening prayer services at St. Joseph Parish in Emmitsburg from 1993 until 2000, when the archdiocese banned them...
