Lawrence packs a paranormal punch
Ghost Tours Kansas released its 2009 list of the top five most haunted places in Kansas on March 28. Lawrence didn't make the list, but Beth Cooper, co-owner of Ghost Tours Kansas, said that didn't mean the city wasn't haunted. Cooper said the list only included places that Ghost Tours Kansas paranormal investigators, who haven't made it to Lawrence yet, determined were haunted. "At this point, it is hard to get into some of these locations," Cooper said. "The Eldridge Hotel is not going to shut down just so we can do an investigation."..

The Ghost Hunter's new digs - Spalding Inn
For those of you who watched Ghost Hunters last night you're privy to the fact that the Hawes and Wilson families did purchase the Spalding Inn in Whitefield, New Hampshire. I sense that down the road both Grant and Jason plan on using the Inn for planned events and paranormal related conferences as well as popular overnight accommodations for paranormal enthusiasts throughout the year as well as those interested in the Mount Washington Hotel just down the road. I may be guessing here but with such a large piece of property, I sense camping on the grounds as well for some reason. I have visions of a KOA on conference days...

Still living with the shadows
At the age of 15, Nikki Russo checked into a California hospital for treatment of an eating disorder. It was in this hospital that she was eventually abducted by a nurse, initiated into a coven of witches and thrown into a dark world filled with drugs, alcohol, abuse and intimidation. Nikki Russo hopes The Pomegranate Seed will be a warning to readers not to take anything for granted where cherished institutions are concerned. Today, Russo's story and struggle to recovery is chronicled in the new book The Pomegranate Seed - Nikki Russo's Sojourn Through Institutional Failure and the World of the Occult...

Mystery spots: places where bizarre forces obscure reality

Harold the ghost makes an appearance
A group of ghost hunters claimed they got more than they bargained for during a spooky night at a historic Lancashire landmark. Many people claim to have seen the spectre of resident ghost Sarah Siddons at the Lancaster Grand Theatre. During an event organised by Preston hotel worker Lydia Jenkins, the Clitheroe Paranormal Investigators (CPI) claimed they had tuned in to the spirit of a man called Harold...

Weird physics: Heaven and Earth, UFOs, consciousness
Some scientific views about our universe now include ideas about multiple dimensions in a "multiverse," bridges or portals between them, fields of "zero point energy" and other fascinating concepts. How do these newer ideas about ways the universe might be structured and operate compare to more traditional concepts about an afterlife such as "Heaven" or a dimension where we might reside before coming into this life?..

Most haunted New Orleans hotels
A paranormal research team identified four ghosts at LePavillon including a 19th century teenage girl, a young aristocratic couple from the 1920's, and a dapper gentleman from the same era who likes to play pranks on the cleaning staff. With a history stretching back to the Gilded Age and impeccable French décor throughout, Le Pavillon Hotel of New Orleans piques the imagination in a way that even the Emperor himself would applaud...

Curator on trail of sea monsters, serpents
Bloodshot eyes as big as saucers, a body coated in mossy hair, spinal protrusions along undulating bodies covered in scales 15 centimetres long. These are just some characteristics of the "denizens of the deep" spotted off the coast of Nova Scotia as recently as a few years ago. Sea captains have seen them. Military men have seen them. And Andrew Hebda, curator of zoology with the Nova Scotia Museum, says there's definitely something to these sightings of monsters and sea serpents. The question is what?..

Doctor has 'cloned humans'
A US-based fertility doctor claimed to have cloned 14 human embryos and transferred 11 of them into the wombs of four women in an interview published on Wednesday. Panayiotis Zavos told Britain's Independent newspaper that although none of the women had had a viable pregnancy as a result, the first cloned baby could now be born within a couple of years...
