A flying "thing" sighted in Weardale
Jan Edwards: We saw a Thing the other night. Not sure at all WHAT it was, but both myself and Gareth saw it. We were driving back from Darlington to home at about 10pm on Wednesday 7th October, and just west of Harperley roundabout on the A698 to Wolsingham, when "it" flew in front of the car...
"UFO halo" in the sky baffles Muscovites
Millions of residents in Moscow witnessed a strange bright ring-shaped cloud hanging over the city's western districts on Wednesday. Scientists from the city's weather forecast service say there is nothing supernatural about it, however. "It's a purely optical effect, even if a spectacular one. You can see really strange things if you watch the clouds regularly," Vesti24 TV channel, which published a mobile phone camera video sent to them by an eyewitness, cites the service...
Tsunami may have inspired Atlantis legend

The new findings about this past tsunami could shed light on the destructive potential of future disasters, researchers added...
Early stills from Boggy Creek
Dread Central: Following up on the story we ran recently with an update on indie flick Boggy Creek, today we got ahold of four early stills from the production that indicate things are looking suitably swampy. The couple getting naked in the titular creek are Julin (Sweatshop) and Cory Hart (Urban Justice), who portray Kat and Dustin O'Brien. As a reminder of what the story is about, "It's a thriller that centers around a story of five young kids who get caught out in a swamp in Boggy Creek, Texas," explains Brian T. Jaynes, director and producer. "They end up crossing paths with an ancient evil creature that lives in the swamp."..
A visit to "nation's most haunted house"
The tour guide asked me to stand in a certain spot in the upstairs hallway, close my eyes and wait for the paranormal energy to take over. I sincerely followed her suggestion since it had happened to her so many times before in that same spot. I have always approached such things with an open mind whenever visiting a place that is considered haunted. And the place where I was visiting on Saturday, Sept. 26 is one of the most famous haunted houses in the world...

Burlington resident Jim Stout says he received a call a couple of weeks ago from a woman who lives nearby who knows he recently was appointed to the village board...

The alleged exorcism happened in late September in a dorm room. Berry College officials said it was not part of a school-sponsored event or group...
Is USS Salem haunted? Tune in and find out
A team of ghost hunters will reveal the findings of their paranormal investigation into Salem - the USS Salem that is. Known affectionately as "The Sea Witch," the ship's formal name is a bow to this city's rich maritime past. The ship sailed for 10 years, mostly in the Mediterranean, after being commissioned shortly after World War II...
New debate rages over shroud of Turin
It has remained chief among religious relics that the likes of the Catholic Church and secret societies have touted for years as proof of the existence of Jesus. Now, Italian scientist Luigi Garlaschelli claims he has created a copy of the famous "Shroud of Turin" by wrapping a custom-made specially woven cloth over one of his students, painting it with red ochre pigment (iron oxide), baking it in an oven for several hours, and washing it. According to CNN News Garlaschelli's results appear to mimick like the cloth that many Christians believe to be the actual burial shroud of Jesus...

Argentina: Cow abducted by flying saucer?
A couple traveling along the river in the area north of Rosario claimed having seen an animal being abducted by a flying saucer. "Later, the both vanished," they said. The likelyhood that cows could fly was always relegated to the province of the impossible. But to Sergio and Laura, this changed last Monday afternoon, when they traveled along the coast near Puerto Gaboto, and believed that they saw a cow in the sky, abducted by a UFO...
