What "Fringe" is about:
Set in Boston, the series follows the investigations of FBI's Fringe Division, formed when Special Agent Olivia Dunham enlisted the special talents of institutionalized "fringe" scientist Walter Bishop and his son, Peter. Like the agents of The X-Files, the team is assigned -- or is often pulled into -- mystifying cases involving weird creatures, genetic engineering, psychic phenomena, and the paranormal. In the series' arc story, the team seeks the answer to "The Pattern" - unexplained phenomena suggestive of someone or something performing experiments on the world.
