This is in relation to the possessed toy story of July, 2003. It reminded of when my daughter was about three years old (17 years ago). She had received one of those talking, walking dolls in a walker from her father (we were divorced). It had batteries in the walker, in a remote control that operated it, and in the doll itself.
The doll would always come on and either start walking or start cackling by itself. It would always startle me, but I never gave it much thought, always thinking that my daughter had been playing with it, or that the cats were messing around with it. However, I would notice that it started doing it when no one was around it.
Finally, one night I was home by myself (my daughter was over at her dad's). It was late and I was watching TV in the living room when I heard the doll cackle. My blood just froze. I shook it off and thought that the cats were playing with it. It cackled again, and my curiosity got the better of me.
I went into my daughter's bedroom, and it was moving and cackling with no one around, not even the cats. I brought it into the living room and took the batteries out of the toy doll walker. It started moving on its own after I sat back down to watch TV.
I got a bit scared, but then thought, Hey, I just need to remove the batteries out of the remote control. It's probably just malfunctioning. So I did that. It cackled and moved its legs again.
That freaked me out a bit more. Then I remembered that it also had batteries in the doll, so I removed those, sat back down and thought, Well, that took care of that! My entire body got chills and felt as if I was frozen when the doll started cackling and moving its legs after all that.
I freaked out, grabbed the doll, walker, and remote and threw them all out the front door into the yard. When my ex brought my daughter to me the next day, I screamed at him at the top of my lungs for bringing a possessed toy to my daughter and told him to get it the "H" outta here and to never ever bring anything like this back to me. He just grumbled that he had spent a lot of money on it. I told him I didn't care how much money he had spent. That that doll was possessed. That was wild. True but wild. I won't ever forget it.
