This story began in Brooklyn, New York over twenty years ago when my parents bought a brownstone two-family home -- and I discovered it had a whistling ghost.
I was in the basement of the home one day and heard a cat call whistle behind me as I climbed the stairs to the first floor. I started laughing at first, thinking it was my husband playing a trick on me, because I had been the only one downstairs. However, I turned around to find that no one was there. I became frightened but soon dismissed it as my imagination.
As time went on, I would hear this whistling, which actually had a strange melody. I still tried to dismiss this until other people visiting would hear it and ask me who was whistling, for which I had no answer.
My husband and I moved away and I thought that my encounter was over. I was so wrong because this ghost followed me -- in two more moves. He would always whistle the same haunting tune and others would hear it, but we never saw him.
I decided to go to college to become a nurse and would use a tape recorder for the lectures. I soon discovered that along with the lecture I would capture his whistling. This made me realize that he was haunting me. One tape really became frightening when I heard this familiar tune, but also a male voice stated the word, "Ambivalent. I was shocked when I played my lecture back. I soon graduated so there wasn't any need for a tape recorder.
Life moved on. My parents and husband both died and I'm living in another place, but in Queens, N.Y. In November, 2011 I was walking through my house when I heard that familiar whistling again. I thought this must be my imagination, it can't be.
I discovered that it was true while preparing Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter's and she mentioned going to the store, which would leave me alone. We both heard him whistle his tune. I had not told my daughter that I began experiencing this again. She yelled out, "I will not leave her alone. Go away, in the name of Jesus."
Yesterday, coming into my home, I heard him whistle like he was right next to me and I decided to tell my story. If anyone can give me some advice or information about this type of haunting, it would be greatly appreciated.
