My first experience started about 20 years ago. I was taking some courses at the local community college with a friend. One day they announced that a famous hypnotist was going to do a demonstration in the cafeteria, so we went. I was hooked. It was amazing all the things he was able to do to people. I won't go into all the details, but I will swear that I saw him have a hypnotized girl hold her arm over a flame and there was not the slightest burn.
There was a lot of question-and-answer time and he explained how to find out about your past life experiences. The best way, he explained, was right before you go to sleep you totally relax and work on remembering as far back into your childhood as you can. This takes several nights and I was surprised at the memories that came to me.
Once you get as far back as you think you possibly can and right before you go to sleep, you ask as if in prayer what was I before this life? Then fall asleep. This worked for me. It didn't for my friend because he was too impatient and wanted immediate results.
What I dreamed was that I was a man and not a great guy. Successful but stepping on anyone including family to achieve what I wanted. This took place back in time in a city that looked like Pompeii or Herculaneum. My son poisoned me with a glass of wine and I fell to the floor. My dog came up whining and snuggling with me and I had the strong thought that the dog was the only one that loved me unconditionally. I looked up into the face of my son and he was my mother in this life. The same mean eyes. My whole life my mother was cruel and hateful toward me. This memory clearified why.
This sounds like a bunch of B.S., but when you do it right and you get an answer, there's no denying it. It was so real and made so much sense. I studied the procedure more and found that once you get your answers you must apologize for any past transgressions.
Well, I did this. I told my mother that I apologize for anything I might have done to her in the past and want only good for her now. I wish this had a happy ending, but it does not. She looked at me like I was insane and refused to even answer me. She remarried an unfriendly man and moved out of state and died a few years later in the company of strangers.
I've practiced since and can travel back to other places and times. One quick example is that I wandered about the castle in the Ever After movie, so that night I did the relaxation routine and went back. The castle looked very much the same, but there were ragged stalls all around with filthy people moving around in a jovial manner. When I moved in closer for a better view, the smell was so horrible and shocking that I immediately woke up.
If I can do this any one can. The only advice I have is take time and don't expect instant results. Oh, and tread lightly in this life because you may be held accountable in the next.
