Reincarnation is an ancient belief and is spread among most cultures of the world. However, really good cases, where claims of a past life can be checked and verified, are rare. One of the most compelling of such cases is that of James Leininger, who as a small boy began to recall details of a former life as a Navy pilot in World War II, and his story is revealed in the book, Soul Survivor: The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot by Bruce and Andrea Leininger (James' parents) with Ken Gross.
One pivotal moment for this family came during the Christmas season when young James was sitting on his father's lap looking at a book they had just received, The Battle for Iwo Jima. Upon seeing a photo of the island, James said to his father, "Daddy, that's when my plane was shot down."
"James, what do you mean," his father asked.
"That's when my plane got shot and crashed," the boy said. That, along with many other curious remarks by the boy and his frightening nightmares, spurred James' parents into researching the possibility that their son might actually be recalling a past life. And what they discovered is nothing short of astounding. Detail after detail of James' remembered experiences were confirmed through exhaustive research and interviews with veterans. They even verified facts with surviving family members of the man James claimed to have been decades ago: James Huston.
The case has been called "the most compelling evidence so far for reincarnation." I think that after you read this story, you'll agree.
