Remote Viewing Experiment #2

By , About.com Guide

Test your powers of psychic perception by participating in our second remote viewing experiment

MANY READERS WRITE to us to tell of their experiences with various forms of psychic phenomena. In most cases these experiences are spontaneous -- that is, the people do not expect them to happen; they just do.

Remote viewing is a more deliberate kind of telepathy or extrasensory perception. With remote viewing, a person purposefully attempts to "see" something from a distance, sometimes even from a different time.

A few years ago we presented our first experiment with remote viewing in which we asked readers to describe a box on my desk as well as its contents. There were some interesting results, but in retrospect it might have been too difficult, too complex.

A SECOND TRY

So we're going to try a second experiment, this one somewhat simplified.

First, however, if you're not familiar with remote viewing, you can read some background material here, which includes techniques you can employ:

THE EXPERIMENT

The target this time around is a postcard that I have on my desk. It is a postcard that I see and look at every day, so it features an image that I am now very familiar with. The image on this postcard could be of any place or any thing. Your job is to describe it:

  • Describe the image as best you can, providing any recognizable things or forms (some remote viewers sketch just rough shapes of what they sense).
  • Describe colors, if any, that you perceive.
  • Perhaps you only get a feeling of something; tell us what that is.
  • Provide a sketch of what you remote view. This is not absolutely required, but it would be cool to see what you envision to compare it to the actual postcard. You can either scan or photograph your sketch and send that along with your description.

THE DEADLINE

You have one week in which to remote view the postcard. I must receive your submission by midnight of June 18, 2011.

E-mail your descriptions and sketches to me at: paranormal@about.com

My wife and I will be the judges of the submissions, and the winner will receive a cool paranormal book. By sending me your submissions, you hereby agree that I have permission to publish your descriptions and drawings on this website. (I can withhold your name and location, if you wish; please let me know.)

Next week I will reveal the image, post reader submissions and announce the winner(s).

Good luck!
