The first year we were married, 1986, my husband worked second shift, from 2-10 p.m. He was expected to be home no later than 11:30 p.m. This night, he did not come home until 1:30 a.m. I was several months pregnant at the time and was very worried about him. When he came home, he was astounded at the time. I was, naturally, upset with him and told him so.
He continually stuck to his story. He told me that as he was driving up Sprague Road when all of the dials on his truck -- gas, odometer, RPM, etc., whatever else there is, including the radio dial -- went crazy. His truck stalled out for no reason, and then all of a sudden he was driving home again. He lost 1 1/2 hours of time.
I really never did believe him, but he has stuck to this story from day one and never wavered. Also, his demeanor that night was especially different. He seemed very strung out and could not quite place it. After a few days, he was able to tell me what happened on the way home: the truck dials, etc. He said he had the radio on and then it went screwy. The dial went from station to station without his touching it. To this day, he supports his story with no differences. He still maintains that he was abducted, but cannot remember any details. Too weird, I know.
