This incident happened in an old Civil War-era house located on Franklin Street in Greenridge, Missouri in August, 1990. Mom had been hearing lots of noises and constantly blaming it on us kids. Having one of her mad cleaning days, she started cleaning the downstairs bedroom where my little sis slept. Going through the closet sweeping the floor, she noticed the linoleum coming up, so she pulled it up and a trap door appeared underneath!
Oh sure, she opened it and all hell broke loose that night! That night we all were just asleep upstairs and mom kept yelling at us -- we had no idea about what! So she yells for us all to come downstairs so she could scold us. As we all stood in front of her confused, we all heard footsteps coming down the stairs, like in clogs. This was a family of six hearing this, so no imagining! It sounded like clogs and it would go up and down, up and down. Then we all heard something being thrown across the room upstairs. No one went back up until the next morning, only to discover various belongings on the floor.
