The story I am about to tell took place in October, 1998, in Niles, Ohio. My cousin and I were in our aunt's backyard playing games as little children do. The night was growing old. It was starting to get darker and colder outside, although that is obviously nothing unusual for an October night. We decided to go back inside and began to walk up the hill in my aunt's backyard together. Now, my grandmother lived next door to my aunt's house.
When we reached the top of the hill, seemingly out of pure instinct, we both stopped and looked next door to my grandmother's back porch. A white, glowing figure stepped out from the porch onto the back steps. It looked like a skeleton covered in brilliant white light. My cousin called out to it in question, "Grandma?" Just then, it let out a tranquil scream. Not a scream like somebody might let out if they were frightened, but a very calm-like scream. We ran to our aunt's front yard and went inside. Nobody believed us. I tell you, this really did happen and I will never forget it.
