Girlfriend Ghost

This happened just in the last few weeks during May, 2011. I'm not precisely sure where we were, but I and a group of friends decided to go on a retreat up near Scranton, Pennsylvania. My friend Alexa and I ended up coming a little later because of our jobs but once we reached it, we were greeted by a young man that looked like he was around the age of 19.

He claimed to be the caretaker's son and that he'd show us around. He first explained that the area was once an old tuberculosis clinic and that thousands died there. The whole time we were with him, he talked about his girlfriend named "Aiya" or "Aya" or something.

He said he was getting a tattoo of her name and we joked that he better be willing to marry her then. At this, he stopped walking, looked dead into our eyes and said that he could never marry her. When we asked why, he replied, "She's a ghost."

That's when some of our friends came out of the nearest cabin and the boy walked off. That night, Alexa and I settled into our beds and went to sleep. The next thing I know, I'm awakened by a shrill scream.

I clicked on the light to see Alexa sitting up in her bed, shaking and looking terrified. When I asked what was wrong, she said she saw a man walk into our room, shuffle past both our beds then began to laugh hideously. When she screamed, he vanished.

I was pretty chilled at this, but was somewhat skeptical, too. Until the next night.

We again bedded down for the night and went to sleep. I awoke around 3:30 a.m. I rolled over, facing the doorway and heard footsteps shuffling outside. That's when the doorknob turned and the door swung open, then immediatly stopped halfway. There was nobody on the other side!

I got up to investigate and looked out into the dead night. Nobody was around. No sounds. No life. At that point, I was a believer!
