The story I want to share is actually about my cousin. I'm not sure when it actually happened; it was probably about 7 or 8 years ago. I know it was in the fall because he was deer hunting on our grandma's land.
According to him, he found a tree where a buck had been rubbing its antlers. He told me he had sat down and was kinda dreaming about it. When he came to, it was dark, so he stood up to go home. When he did, he saw a big shadow stand up. He said this thing stood up on its hind legs.
I feel I should tell you I have never heard of bears in this part of Oklahoma, and I'm no cat expert, but I don't think a mountain lion would do that either.
Needless to say, he was pretty spooked and turned and ran up the hill to the clearing where there were a bunch old junk cars. He jumped in an old pickup truck. He said that thing -- whatever it was -- scratched the truck up. Those scratches I saw with my own eyes.
When it stopped, he waited awhile then climbed out, ready to head to grandma's house when he heard it behind him, so ran the rest of the way to our grandma's.
Grandma told me she was shocked when she saw him sitting out on her porch because when she went to check on him he was crying. My cousin was a pretty tough guy, so it was surprising to find something had scared him so badly. He was really shaken up about it. We still are not really sure what did it.
