The
Y2K Bug. The Y2K
computer problem, of course, has generated more predictions than just about
anything else for 2000. Psychics and computer experts alike have predicted
everything from complete technological breakdown and social chaos to minor
inconveniences on January 1.
- Gary North is one of the most vocal doomsayers regarding the Y2K bug. “Things will not break down all at once in early January unless the power grid goes down and stays down,” North says. “But the domino effect will create ever-increasing institutional noise and confusion throughout January and beyond.”
Some
Kind of Geological Event. March
12, 2000 is the date chosen by astrologers Boris
Romanov and Albert Timashev for some undefined geological event. They base
this prediction on a repeating pattern they say they have discovered of 54 days
and 44 days between lunar eclipses that link to such major events.
April – June, 2000
Rapture
and Pole Shift. Prophet Ola
Ilori [link no longer works] says that the Jewish Jubilee Year – part of the Lord’s timeframe
for dealing with mankind –
began on April 16, 1999 and end on April 4, 2000. By this time, she believes,
the Rapture will take place followed by the ever-popular pole shift.
Planetary
Havoc. May 5, 2000 has been targeted by many prophets and
astrologers as a day of devastating Earth changes because the planets of
our solar system will be in relative alignment on that day, also known as The
Grand Conjunction. The
Billennium cites these prophets as saying that “a number of unusually
large earthquakes will occur... add giant tidal waves, erupting volcanoes, and
shifting polar ice caps and you have the recipe for the ultimate Irwin Allen
disaster movie.”

Although, Nostradamus didn’t provide a date, some interpreters quote this quatrain as a prediction about May 5: “An earthquake will be reported from the bottom of Asia... in an unstable and troubled state... [when] Mars, Mercury, and the Moon are in conjunction.”
- Edgar Cayce, the famous American psychic, also foresaw destructive Earth changes as we approach 2000. He predicted Great Britain and Western Europe would be rocked by quakes; that Japan would disappear beneath the sea; that New York City and Connecticut would likewise be submerged.
- Jeanne Dixon, the psychic who won acclaim for her prediction of the assassination of JFK, said the quakes would rumble in the spring and fall of 2000.
- According to a theory first proposed by Charles Piazzi Smyth, a 19th century astronomer, and popularized by authors John and Morton Edgar in their book Great Pyramid Passages, the passages inside the Great Pyramid of Giza represents a timeline of human events. Significant events such as the Great Flood and the birth of Jesus, they say, are are marked by niches and corners in the walls. Some measurements conclude that the passageway and the timeline end at May 5, 2000. (Other measurements put the date at September 17, 2001.)
- Richard Kieninger, a writer and founder of The Adelphi Organization, first made his predictions about May 5 in his 1962 book, The Ultimate Frontier.
- Richard Noone is another guy who thinks May 5 is the date to watch out for, and is capitalizing on that idea with his book, 5/5/2000 Ice: The Ultimate Disaster. He too predicts a pole shift on this date, which will result in planet-wide catastrophes.
- Richard Kieninger, a writer and founder of The Adelphi Organization, first made his predictions about May 5 in his 1962 book, The Ultimate Frontier. “Although one cannot normally expect mere planetary configurations to have such a spectacular effect upon us,” he wrote, “many factors within our Earth are conjoining to produce great surface instability around the turn of the century.”
- When Jupiter and Saturn line up, according to a NASA study, there is a 20 percent increase in solar activity. Could this major alignment of planets trigger the solar activity that will bring about these predicted Earth changes?
The
Tribulation. Marilyn
J. Agee has figured out that June 10, 2000 is will see the beginning of the
Tribulation – the dire events that will take place before the Second Coming of
Jesus.
Pole
Shift. Channeler and New Age author Ruth Montgomery felt that
the spring and summer months were the most likely for a life-altering pole
shift, according to The Billennium.
The new south pole, she said would be located over South America and the new
north pole several hundred miles east of Japan. Today’s frozen arctic will
become a tropical paradise.
