Unlike other shows like Ghost Hunters on SyFy, The Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures is a far more entertaining watch. Zac, Nick, and Aaron have good chemistry and can be rather amusing in their "Lock Down" sessions within one purportedly haunted local or another.
The show spends the first half hour or so going through the history of the place, listening to the accounts of others, and then get to setting up their investigation. The second half hour is spent roaming around in the dark and provoking the ghost, who usually responds through EVPs and noises from some distant corner of the building.
Bear in mind that these shows are all dependent upon ratings, and are all most likely (at least to some degree) staged for entertainment, with production crews and investigators themselves setting up evidence ahead of time or embellishing mundane creaks of a settling structure. Ghost Hunters is rampant with this. Ghost Adventures is at least a fun watch.
How could this show be better?
Ghost Adventures does as good a job as you can within the field of paranormal investigation. But perhaps they can add an attractive female to the current trio of dudes.
