This story seems to cross many boundaries, both religious and paranormal. I've heard accounts of events almost identical. I think these battles are forces trying to gain strength and overrun our own physical world. The most prominent account that's come to mind are those of a man by the name of Danion Brinkley. He was electrocuted while on the phone in a thunder storm and was declared dead and sent to the morgue where he eventually came back to our world. In his experience he told of a place where we were all to become 'beings of light'. Saying that in this world of light he was taught in crystaline cathedrals for three months when in our dimension it was just a few hours.There are other worlds than this and I feel there may be a time when the world of these 'Dark Entites' and ours will come face to face.
