What I saw
Straight up, no BS....my friend and I had met at the (Marriott?) hotel in Racine WI, for a wedding that evening and we met at the bar that afternoon. We were both sober and it was us, the bartender and another couple in the room. I ordered a foo-foo drink, and when the bartender went to put the stemware glass on the bar the base of the glass appeard to be curved, (like the bottom of an egg) so the glass wouldn't sit, he picked it up looked at it, it looked normal, yet it 'curved' on the bar....we all looked at each other....and then he set the drink down no problem.. magic? Bizarre...no explanation, glass bender?
Where I saw it
Hotel Bar, Mariott Hotel, (exit 300 off I94) Racine, WI
(I am 99% sure it was the Marriott... it is off that exit, across from the Harley Davidson dealership in Racine... if it is not a Mariott it is a similar status, nicer hotel chain, but for sure, on that road/exit. I walked across the street to shop the HD dealership to kill time while waiting for her to arrive).
Lessons Learned
- Mind bender? Matter bender? Who knows? I could not believe I had just witnessed that. Bartender had no explanation, but it was as if the base of the stemware temporarily became bendable, then magically straightened out. The bartender downplayed it happening, changed the subject, so to speak, like it was no big deal, even though we all saw it clearly. I finished the drink uneventfully. Was sober, not a drug user, script or illegal.
- (I grew up in a haunted house, so I knew that when you see something bizarre, your mind almost doesn't accept that you saw what you did; it was like that)
