What I Did:
The following is the account of my encounter with what may be shadow people. Until today, the term "shadow people" was unknown to me however the experiences of others listed here on your site describes what I have experienced to the letter... please read my account of events in the "How I did it" section that follows:
How I Did It:
I live in a fairly modern ranch type dwelling in the metro Detroit area - the house was built in the late 1950's and has no significant history to my knowledge.
Over the last couple of years I have experienced some very odd occurrences that are beginning to worry me... at first it would be "shadows" that would be just visible out of the corner of my eye and only at night time when everyone else is asleep. Then I would wake up in the middle of the night with a sense of dread. About two years ago on several occasions I experienced something very frightening and I have to say that I do not scare easily and am afraid of no-one however, I had been working long hours and had worked through the night for several days so I would sleep during the day whilst my son was at school and my wife at work... it was during the day whilst I was asleep and alone in the house that the following occurred:
I was awoken with a sense that someone was in the room with me and I knew that I should be alone so I called out but received no response - I was aware of my surroundings but could not see and was unable to move - something was at the foot of the bed and was climbing on top of me. It pinned me down - I was aware of something very heavy on top of me but all I could see was dark, blurry shapes - whatever it was, was now sitting on my chest and was preventing me from breathing, almost as if holding something over my face - I was overcome with terror - I fought as hard as I could and a second or so later, I was alone in my room again with no-one else in the house - this happened on a number of occasions. I looked up paranormal activity at the time and found an article on "sleep paralysis" which almost described my experience exactly so I put the event down to that and left well alone.
On almost nightly frequency, the shadows are still there however, last night something new happened:
I was sitting at my computer in my office where I have a clamp down table lamp positioned on the shelf next to my desk. The lamp was yanked off the shelf and dropped on my desk in front of my face almost hitting me - the only thing is that I was alone in my office, my wife and child were asleep in other rooms in the house and there was no visible indication of anyone else in the room. Startled. I got up from my desk and went to take a shower. As I started to shower, two books that were in the bathroom on the window ledge were flung at the shower curtain - please note that there were no open
