Your True Tales The Blackness This following story takes place when I was about 23 years old, living with one of my best friends and somewhat struggling with finances at the time. One day while I was outside on a very nice warm day washing my car, I became aware of a "presence" around me. The feeling that I felt can only be described as a feeling of total "blackness". At that point I noticed a very tall man with a very strange way of moving. The way this guy was moving around was like something you would see in a vampire movie. I just figured that it was some drug-nut and paid the situation no further attention, and I totally disregarded the feeling that was pulsing through me. Later that night, I went to see a friend who lived further up the hill in the same neighborhood. I was only at my friend's house for about an hour when I got a call from my roommate on my cell phone. Upon answering my phone, I heard my friend in a hysterical tone of voice. My friend said that someone was "crawling" around on our roof. Not knowing what to make of this, I hurried home. Upon walking through my front door, I saw my roommate, who looked like he had seen a ghost. "There has got to be more than one up there!" my friend said. Right before I could ask him what he was talking about, I heard the first noise. It sounded like someone skipping across my roof. From one side of the home it would start, then I would hear whatever it was jumping literally from one side of the house to the other -- and this was a 3,000-square-foot home! I owned several firearms at the time. I gave my friend my hunting shotgun as I took my .45 cal pistol outside too see what in the world was happening. Upon pointing the flashlight on the roof, all we could see was a shadow-like figure jump from one position to the next. That was until we saw its eyes. These were the biggest eyes I have ever seen, about the size of a tennis ball, glowing coal red. Upon pointing these guns and screaming at this thing, and also being afraid of shooting a shotgun in a residential area. This thing managed to scurry down my roof, and in two quick bounds or jumps was all the way across my backyard, resting on top of an 8-foot block wall that encased my yard. I felt like the life was sucked out of me when I was looking into those eyes. Neither me nor my roommate ever saw this thing again. But it sure changed my outlook on what can possibly exist in this greatly vast and mysterious world that we live in. < Previous story | Next story >
