Wormhole on a Country Road
by Aaron Berke

I can only guess the year because I can't remember exactly; I would guess it was 1997 or '98 because I was in fourth or fifth grade and we lived in this area for only two years. The area was Colton/Beavercreek, Oregon, and area approximately 30 minutes outside the large city of Portland. It's a very rural area. We lived in Beavercreek, population 5,000. I went to elementary school in Colton, about 15 minutes away, only one way to get there along rural roads.

To the best of my memory, it was 7:00 p.m. after a basketball practice at my elementary school. It was dark and we had been driving for about two or three minutes of the drive home, which my mother and I had driven many, many times. We turned onto the more main road, which we would drive on for about eight to ten minutes, at which point we would turn off and be at our house in three or four more minutes. Only about 30 seconds after we turned onto the main road, my mother and I were talking moderately and she suddenly braked to a slow pace and said, "Aaron, look...." And as I looked out at the road, it was absolutely black: no road lines, no edges of the road, almost as if we had just driven off of the road into the woods.

She continued at about 5-10 mph for just about 15 seconds when suddenly the road became visible again, lines, edges and all. We proceeded to talk about how weird this even was when we came upon a very small town-like area, confused we then realized by turning around that we had driven ten minutes past our turn-off to our street. This means we had traveled a 20-minute distance of in less than two minutes. It was as if we turned onto the road, blacked out for one minute, then appeared ten miles further than we should have been. We were somewhat stunned and joked about returning home to our family being years older.

This experience is the only paranormal one I have ever experienced in my life. And I swear by it; no one could convince me differently, or my mother. Either we were abducted and replaced, or there was some sort of a wormhole on that country road.
