Cat on the Ceiling
by Shelly C.

The experience I am about to share troubles me and I would like to find an explanation. I have read many of the stories on your site and I believe this may be my best chance. So, here goes:

It was mid-February of 2008 and I was sleeping in my own bed (in Northern Illinois) beside my husband. Around 3 a.m. I felt something pulling at my arm. I rolled over onto my back expecting to find an amorous hubbie. Instead, when I looked up I saw something looking down at me from the ceiling. It was a terrifying cat-like shape with glowing eyes, sharp teeth and claws. It was just hanging there staring at me. I thought I must be dreaming, so I rolled over and tried to rid myself of the dream.

I woke again a few minutes later and rolled over to assure myself that the cat thing had not been real, but there it was just like the first time. I nearly screamed then I rolled over and covered my head with the blankets as my husband snored on. I shook him, but he would not wake up. My heart was pounding in my chest. I waited a few minutes (feeling very childish) then I threw off the covers and sort of vaulted out of bed. The thing was gone and I fled to the living room and turned on the TV and all sorts of lights.

There I sat until my husband got up a few hours later. I told him what happened and he said, "What a crazy dream!" and hugged me. He is a true skeptic... I'm not so sure. Thankfully, the experience has not repeated itself as of yet. And, yes, I have a cat, but he certainly cannot cling to the ceiling. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
