Your True Tales

Long ago when I was in kindergarten, my mother picked a babysitter for the afternoons when I was out of school. The babysitter took my lunch for her own daughter, and I was not allowed into her house. I would play in a burned out deserted building.
After two days alone in the building, a small boy came toward me out of nowhere. He was dressed as an Amish boy is dressed today. We would talk and play all afternoon. This went on for about two weeks. Then one day we were talking and a very bad storm started. The roof was leaking and the sky turned black.
Suddenly this boy stood up and told me loudly to get out. He really scared me, as he was always a nice guy. Then he yelled, "Get out! You are not safe here.GO!" I jumped up and ran from the building crying. I ran to the babysitter's home, but she wouldn't allow me in. I was as close as skin to the frame of her home when I saw my mother's car.... she was early that day. She saw me trembling and soaked. She dragged me upstairs to the babysitter's and she gave my caregiver fear. I never went to that babysitter again. I wonder who my little playmate was... and if he knew my mother was about to arrive... or was it the way I wolfed down my supper, that my life became better that day.
