Thing Came Down the Stairs

This happed to me when I was around 11-12 years old. I was playing in the basement with my sister, who is two years younger than I, and my three friends. My stairs have a sideway triangle in the middle of them. It's about medium sized and my lights are automatic, so if someone walks down the stairs, the lights turn on. My basement splits into two rooms. So if you're going down the stairs, there is a wall in front of you and you can either go left to where we would play or right where the laundry machine and other things like our bikes and such.
Well my sister, three friends, and I were playing some kind of shopping game and I was the cashier. I had my back toward the stairs. My friend was in front of me "buying something" and my sister was next to her. My other two friends were on the other side of the room. So they really didn't see anything. Well we saw the light turn on like someone was coming down and I thought it was my grandma coming down to do the laundry and so, thought nothing of it.
My friend was really the only one that actually saw the "thing". So she saw a totally black thing (it was like a ghost with a cloth except this cloth was torn and black) literally falls down the stairs. She said it was big and black. My sister saw it when it came towards the end of the triangle. Then it swiftly turned right into the other room with the laundry machine. My sister bravely looked around the corner and saw a hanger swinging like something brushed against it. My sister looked at my friend in shock and they screamed and told me and the others and we all got freaked out and screamed and ran upstairs. To this day we still do not know what it was.
