Coma Ghost
by Deborah

I live in upstate New York. Four years ago, on May 23, I was notified that a very close friend had passed. I later learned that he had been in a coma for two weeks prior to his death. During this time, I felt that I was receiving frantic messages, though I thought at the time they were all coincidences. I saw bumper stickers with the name of his town; I received spam mail with his last name; I heard and saw the initials of his name repeatedly all around me via different media; and I had a strange feeling of unrest. I know now that he was trying to reach out to me.

About four months after his death, while sleeping, I felt the bed violently shaking, but seemed to be in a between place of sleep - like I knew it was happening but did not wake up. This happened quite a few times over the next months, and finally one night the bed shook so violently that I woke up to actually see the bed moving and a strange hazy glow in the room. I was not afraid, and at this point I feel that he finally got my attention. I think he wanted to tell me he was still with me and that he was okay.

A year or so later, I was lying on my side in bed in the early morning when I gently woke up. As I opened my eyes, there he was kneeling beside my bed looking down at me. It was as if he was a shadow -- almost like smoke, but I knew it was him. This left me with a great feeling of peace. He has come back a few more times and I always look for signs. If anyone can explain any of these occurrences to me and let me know that it was not all in my head I would greatly appreciate it. I never believe in this type of thing before... but am a true believer now.
