The Ghost Orb

I was in the sixth grade when this happened. It was in the morning as I was getting ready for school and my grandparents' dog just started to bark really violently (I lived at my grandparents at the time). I looked out the window into the backyard and realized the dog had his tail between his legs as if he were scared. I wanted to check out what he was making a fuss about, because it couldn't have been a cat or anything human - he wouldn't have been scared like that. Sadly, I couldn't check it out because I had to get to school, so my grandpa checked it out instead. He came back in claiming that there was nothing there.
The next morning, the dog started to bark really violently again. So my grandpa checked it out again, because I didn't have time. Again, he came back in claiming there was nothing there.
On the third day, the dog barked again at the same spot (which is at the side fence), and this time I had a little extra time to check it out myself. I walked over there. Once I got to the side of the house, the dog wasn't barking anymore, and I looked around seeing nothing. I was about to turn around and leave when the neighbors slammed their window shut. I jumped and looked over toward their house, when suddenly I saw this small, clear ball of light zoom past the house and into the sky! I knew there was no other way that I could have seen the "supposed" orb without a solid object behind it, which was the house.
