Nana's
Reflection
by Mandy
About two years ago, my mom and I were on our way to pick up my little sister from Girl Scouts, and my mom got a phone call. While my mom was on the phone, I was just looking out the window and waiting for my sister to come out. Then when my mom got off the phone I asked so who that was. She said it was my aunt. I remember she gave me this look, the same look she gave me when I found out my hamster died, and right then and there I knew something bad had happened.
She then told me that my aunt's grandmother had passed away. We weren't related by blood, but I went to visit her more than my own grandparents, so she felt like family. My mom went inside the school to go get my sister and I was just in the car alone. Not crying, but thinking about Nana. Just wishing I could say goodbye.
Then I looked up in the front seat of our car, and in the window I could see a reflection of my nana just looking at me and waving goodbye. Then I blinked for one second and she was gone. I never told my mom because I knew she wouldn't believe me. I was just happy that I got to say goodbye to my nana.
