Spectre with a Camera

These two events both occurred in my home in Byron, Georgia. The first was about 18 months ago and the second was in August, 2008. I believe both to be related. Personal background: Retired from Depart of Defense with 43 years of service related to nuclear weapons. I held a top secret security clearance which required frequent background checks and was also under the military's Human Reliability Program, which insures individuals are considered stable to work with critical programs.
Event one: My wife and I were sleeping. My wife takes a sleeping pill every night and is almost impossible to wake up. At about 3 a.m., my bladder woke me up, as usual. I lay there with my eyes closed wishing I could stay in bed, but after a few minutes I knew I had to get up. I opened my eyes and clearly saw a person (male) leaning over the foot of the bed with a square box aimed at my wife. (I thought he was using a camera at the time.) I sat straight up and yelled, "Hey!" and he immediately squatted down behind the large footboard of our bed. Without taking my sight from the footboard and door to our bedroom, I got my hand gun, inserted the clip and chambered a round and told him to stand up. No response. I walked around the foot of the bed fully intending to shoot whoever it was. There was no one there. I then checked my wife's side of the bed. Still no one. I then checked every window and door in the house and all were secure. This bothered me tremendously for months, but gradually I chalked it up as unsolvable and never spoke to anyone about it.
Event two: My wife was out of town visiting relatives and I fell asleep in my recliner watching a late movie on TV. After a couple of hours, the TV woke me up. I lay there unmoving for a couple of minutes watching the TV, which was slightly to my right. When I turned my head to the left and started getting out of the recliner, I saw a casually dressed, neat appearing black man standing in the doorway of my bedroom. When he saw that I was awake and looking at him, he started fading from a clear solid figure to a semi-transparent person, which progressed to being completely disappeared in a matter of five to six seconds. This troubled me even more than the first event, so the next day I started Googling key words, hoping to see if I could find anything related to these events. That is how I found this website. I would be very interested to know if others have experienced anything like this.
