The Green Fog
by Jedidiah Robinson

It was the winter of 2004. I lived in Lonview, Washington with my now ex-wife and two kids. We decided to head up to my parents' house when it started snowing. When we got there, the roads were so bad and slick that we had to stay the night. That night I slept on the floor of the living room because my parents only had a full-size bed for guests and we couldn't all fit on the bed.

At about 2:30 in the morning, my ex ran into the living room with the kids in her arms, and frighten to death. She said she was sleeping when she felt like the bed was shaking back and forth. She woke up and the bed stopped, so she thought that she she was dreaming. She closed her eyes to fall asleep again when there was a loud CRACK from the ceiling and the bed started shaking again. That is when she grabbed the kids and ran for the living room.

After I got everyone calmed down and sleeping beside me on the floor, I lay there for a while not able to sleep. All of a sudden, from the doorway to the hall came a green-colored fog. It floated into the room and stopped what looked like right in front of my face. I reached with my hand and tried to touch it, but I couldn't feel anything but air. I quickly closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep, but as you can imagine it was a long, sleepless night.

What I didn't tell my ex was that I experienced a similar thing when I was growing up in that same room. A few times I would just lie down in bed and have the covers tucked under my chin when the covers would be pulled down a couple of inches. A couple of times I would be lying there and it would feel as if someone sat next to me in bed. Safe to say, it was interesting growing up in that house, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
