Bobble-Head Entity
by Dale

I'm not the most superstitious guy that you'll ever meet, but I sure as hell believe in ghosts. I've had my share of strange experiences in my home, but there is only one that I can clearly remember. My motto is: "You only get one life, so why waste it on sleep?" But then again I get tired just as often as anyone else does; I just prefer to do more active things.

So anyway, back to the story. I was just getting home from work at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, and so I changed into my more comfortable set of clothes, my PJs. I wasn't really tired, but i was worn out and I had to leave at like 9 a.m. the following morning. So I turn on my fan, open the window and turn on the TV. I got bored pretty fast from watching "You had a bad day" three times on all-music channels, so turned off the TV and closed my eyes... just for a couple minutes.

Then all of a sudden my fan turns off, which was weird since I had just fixed the inlet the day before and the fan was nonetheless... brand new. I can't sleep without the fan on, so I turn around to see what exactly happen to my beloved fan. As I turn my body around, I see something in the corner of my room, and the only light that was shining into my room was the moonlight. I couldn't quite make out the face, but I knew right then it wasn't my dad or my dog. So as I study it for a second or so, its head starts to kind of bobble... back and forth... back and forth.... It didn't really register in my mind at first, but as more time went by I told myself that this wasn't a dream.

Then after about a minute "its" head was moving back and forth at an incredible speed. It then starts to kind of hobble over to me... it only took a second or so for it to be less than a foot away from me. I finally start to realize that this isn't some dream world or Candy Land Palace. As its head spins faster and faster I can faintly make out a face... a face I can't really describe nonetheless want to. But as it stands there staring at me... scared out my flippin' mind, decide to jerk a little... just to see what it would do. It moves away from me for a second, then darts over to the foot of my bed, literally scaring almost the living crap out of me.

I decide to get up and turn on the lights, but as I do, it darts over and is right in my face again... staring me right in the eyes. I decide to try and go to sleep, thinking it was a dream. But as I do that... it follows... right behind.... I put my head under the pillow, but still... I can hear it breathing... and I know it's just sitting there... staring at me. I decide to take the pillow away from my head to see if I was right, which I was. Eventually, I gain just enough courage to slowly reach for the power button the fan, pointed right towards where "we" were standing. But as I reach, "it" reaches too, but at me and I quickly flip the switch to the fan and suddenly... it's gone...and about three seconds later my dad walks in the room and asks, "Hey dude, do you want some breakfast?"

Apparently, it was like 6 a.m. and somehow he also knew that i was up. I just stood there for a second and said, "Yeah... I'll take some breakfast." About an hour later, as we were eating at the table, he looks at me with a puzzled expression and said: "Before I walked in your room this morning, I heard laughter. Tell me... what was so funny at 6 o'clock in the morning?" I looked back at him with an odd look and I said, "Dad... I wasn't the one who was laughing...." My Dad believed me on this one because well... I'm not going to lie. Our house is haunted.
