Grandpa
Guardian Angel

I absolutely do believe in angels and I believe that sometimes when our loved ones pass away they become our guardians. My grandfather passed away on October 25, 1999 after undergoing heart surgery. I saw him in ICU about three weeks before his death. My grandfather was not one to show his feelings, but when I saw him I really felt a need to tell him how much I loved him, not knowing that would be the last time I would ever see him. On November 3 of that same year I was in a horrible car accident when I was turning at a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle on the drivers side of my car. I went unconscious and my foot must have fallen on the gas pedal and went crashing into a brick wall on the side of a store. I had relatively minor injuries, just a minor concussion and cuts on my forehead. I also had a lacerated liver but it was quite minor and I healed very quickly. After seeing my car I could not believed I survived that crash, my car looked like a piece of scrap metal. During the accident when I was unconscious, I believe I remember seeing my grandfather and he was very peaceful and smiling like he always was when he was alive. Maybe I imagined seeing my grandfather during the accident but I know it was he who was my guardian angel that day and I thank him all the time. A few months after the accident I became pregnant with my daughter. My husband and I feel very blessed to have her. Did Grandpa know I was soon to be a mother and it was not my time? Whatever the reason, I'm glad he's watching over us.
