Roadside
Ghost
by Jake C.
Late one summer night, my two friends and I were driving around in our small hometown. It was around 12 or 1 in the morning, and we were on our way home because we couldn't find anything else to do. As we were heading into town to return me to my car, we spotted something. We couldn't tell what it was from a distance, and with the small size of the town, we weren't used to seeing someone or something at this time of night. We drove my friend's truck near the thing and we saw that it was an old-looking woman with long white hair and a long white night gown. It was a very windy night so the woman's hair and gown were blowing to the side. We drove slow and attempted to see who the woman was, but as we drove by, she did not look at us or come close to acknowledging the fact that we were there. We each looked at each other in somewhat disbelief, then we looked at her again and had a hard time making out her face or who she was. So naturally we drove away, and then my friend stopped the truck to make sure that there was nothing wrong, and when we looked back, no one was standing or walking in the road. The population of the town we live in is near 175, so of course we know everyone in the area. There is no woman near this age, with this kind of build or makeup in the area. We never really told anyone about this and kept it our secret until we heard about this site.
