A Haunting Begins
by Glen

I came home from playing music at my nephew's wedding reception around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9th of 2003. When I pulled up to the front of the house and got out of the truck, my wife, Danielle, came out onto the front porch and was acting sort of confused and VERY glad to see me and the kids home. She had to stay at home to see if she was to be called into work as she is "on call" and had to stay close by the home. She said to me as I was walking into the front gate of the yard, "Come here, I have to talk to you!" I got concerned because of the way she was acting, so I asked her what was wrong. She asked me to come into the back bedroom to talk in private to me because she didn't want to alarm the kids.

We got in the back room and she almost broke down into tears as she turned around to me and said, "I almost left the house today. I was in the dining room at the computer when I heard very distinctly someone shuffling their feet on the carpet just around the corner from me and I thought it was you. I thought you had come in the back door of the house and were trying to scare me! When I got up and looked, no one was there!"

She then told me that when she was sitting down again, she had heard the blinds in the kids' room, as if someone had taken a stick and was running it down the blinds really hard. She got up and went in to investigate it but no one was there, and the cat was asleep on the couch in the front room! I assured her that I believed her and that I think she heard something, but that it probably was something easily explainable. I was a bit skeptical about this being anything abnormal or unexplainable.

Later the next day, my wife and I went to go pick up her son and do some shopping. We were out for a while, but when we pulled up to the house, there were our three other kids in-between the front room drapes looking out the front window (looking like three little bobble heads together) with frightened looks on their faces. When we came into the house, the oldest one came running up to us saying, "We heard loud footsteps in the dining room as we were watching TV. I got up to check and nobody was there!"

I tried to assure the kids that it might be something like a cat or a possum under the house, rubbing up under the floor boards possibly, and that there wasn't anything to worry about. Then my wife told me last night that the microwave door was left open and she asked our oldest girl to shut it thinking that one of the other girls had left it open. After she closed it and left the room, my wife was sitting in the dining room at the counter and she looked up to see the microwave door swung open again. I asked my wife if maybe our oldest girl had not shut it tight, but she assured me that she had and even double checked it.
