Poltergeist Activity
by Monica

About six years ago, I used to have a rocking chair in my basement, where I now live (remodeled studio apt.). Now mind you, I have a cat who lives with me. I used to pile clothing on the chair all the time. One night a loud crash caused me to wake up. The chair was on the floor and all my clothes were scattered. This happened twice in one week. I kept blaming these occurrences on my cat. The third time (same week) I was up doing work on the computer around 7 p.m. or so. My back was turned toward the chair. You know when you have a feeling something is behind you? That's what I had, so I turned around. The chair was rocking back and forth. I thought maybe the cat jumped off the chair, forcing it to rock, but the cat was sitting near the bed, five feet away, staring at the chair like I was. I was freaked out, but at the end blamed everything on the cat.

A few months ago, in 2005, while I was sleeping, my bedside marble table (very heavy) took a loud crash in the middle of the night. I have a bed and futon downstairs, and chose to sleep on the futon. The table was next to the bed. Around 2 a.m., I wake up to the "crash" and see that the marble table is flipped over, five feet from the bed... headed in my direction. At that point, I was convinced, but of course in due time I blamed it on the cat again.

About a month later, the same thing happened, but now this time with the phone that I have sitting on that marble table. Again, I blamed it on the cat. Do you see a pattern here? So even though in the back of my mind, I have been freaked out with these occurences, .I keep telling myself "it's the stupid cat." Until now....

A couple of weeks ago, I was getting ready to go out with my best friend, Amy. I was on the phone with her, just discussing some things, and about half an hour before that I had a huge fight with an ex-boyfriend of mine. In the meantime, my famous little cat here was curled up into a ball, sleeping in a purple storage container/box, whatever you want to call it, which was located about four feet across from his large glass water bowl. Now, keep in mind that this water bowl has water in it... and is on the floor. It is not resting on a table or anything. As I walked past the bowl and the cat, I mentioned to my friend Amy how cute my cat was, all snuggled and sleeping in the "purple box."

I was on my way to the restroom to apply makeup, do hair, ya know... girl stuff. The SECOND I stepped foot into the bathroom, I heard the loudest crash.. Ya know how you drop a plate and it doesn't break and just circles around a few times and you hear the "circling" of the plate? Well, that is what I heard, plus the crashing part. I stopped dead in my tracks and just froze and told amy to hold on. As I stepped out of the bathroom door, the cat was still in the purple box, but now sitting upright staring at the glass bowl.... now shattered into five pieces. How does a bowl just slam onto the ground and break like that? Especially since it was already ON THE FLOOR. This time it couldn't have been the cat.

Within three second or so, would it be possible for the cat to wake up, get out of the box, mischievously do something crazy to the water bowl, making it shatter into pieces and then run back inside the purple box? I don't think so. I don't know who to talk to about this. Either I'm going crazy, or there is some poltergeist activity occurring in the house? There have been a few things my brother has witnessed in the house, but that is too much to write about now. I feel like I've already written a novel. If you know of what this might be, or if you know of anyone else who has experienced stuff like this...please let me know. I just need to know that I'm not a loon.
