Knocking Strangeness

It was two years ago when I had my very first paranormal incident. I was asleep in my room when a sudden knocking woke me up. I was startled for about half a minute, but then i slowly walked to the door, umbrella in hand (it was 3 in the morning after all). Hooking the chain on my door, I opened it to find no one there. Lying back down to sleep, I completely dismissed the incident.

Only about an hour later, the knocking started again, this time louder and coming from the window. I was a little scared, I have to admit, but as I walked there, I noticed a shadowy figure pass by the window. After looking around outside and not finding anything, I returned to my bed, but left the light on.

Again, an hour later the knocking started and again from the window. I ran to the window and pulled the curtains apart, and to my horror found some sort of man like figure with what appeared to be a tail dart off in to the large bush at the far end of my yard.

After no more disturbances from the night, I asked my neighbors if they experienced anything similar and they said that at approximately 1:30 a.m., someone tried to force their way in through their sliding doors that lead into their garden, which was right next to mine, separated only by a wooden fence. They also told me that when they looked out, our boundary fence was completely ripped apart... yet now it was fine! I've never had the same incident happen to me again.
